SMS / Text Messaging Policy

Effective Date: July 3, 2026 Last Updated: July 3, 2026

This SMS Policy (“Policy”) describes the terms of City Deck’s text messaging (“SMS”) program. By providing your mobile phone number to City Deck and opting in to receive text messages, you agree to the terms below. This Policy supplements our Privacy Policy and, where applicable, our website Terms & Conditions.

1. About Our SMS Program

City Deck may send two general categories of text messages, depending on the type of consent you provide:

  • Transactional / Informational messages — related to a service you’ve requested or a project you’re working with us on, such as:
    • Confirmation of a consultation, estimate, or appointment request
    • Appointment reminders and scheduling updates
    • Project status updates (e.g., permitting, material delivery, crew arrival)
    • Requests for information needed to complete your project
  • Marketing / Promotional messages — such as:
    • Seasonal promotions or discounts
    • New service announcements
    • Referral or review requests
    • General company updates

You will only receive marketing messages if you have separately and affirmatively opted in to receive them. Opting in to transactional messages (for example, by submitting a consultation request) does not automatically enroll you in marketing messages, and vice versa.

2. How You Opt In

You may opt in to receive text messages from City Deck by:

  • Checking an unchecked consent box on a Site form (e.g., a consultation or estimate request form) and submitting your mobile number
  • Providing your mobile number and verbally agreeing to receive texts during a call or in-person consultation, which we will document
  • Texting a designated keyword to a number associated with City Deck, where applicable

Consent is not a condition of purchase. You are never required to opt in to SMS messaging in order to receive a quote, schedule a consultation, or purchase services from City Deck.

By opting in, you confirm that you are the owner or authorized user of the mobile number provided and that you agree to receive messages from City Deck at that number, which may be sent using automated technology.

3. Message Frequency and Costs

Message frequency varies depending on your active project status and the type of messages you’ve opted in to receive (for example, more frequent messages during active scheduling or construction, fewer during quieter periods).

Message and data rates may apply. Charges depend on your mobile carrier and plan. City Deck does not charge for text messages, but your carrier’s standard messaging rates apply.

4. How to Opt Out

You can opt out of receiving text messages from City Deck at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. You will receive one final confirmation message acknowledging your opt-out, after which you will not receive further messages of that type unless you opt in again.

We also honor opt-out requests made through other reasonable means, such as a clear verbal request, an opt-out request by email, or a written request to the contact information in Section 8 — even if you don’t use the word “STOP.” Please allow a reasonable amount of time for these alternate requests to be processed.

Opting out of marketing messages will not affect transactional messages related to a project you are actively engaged in with us (e.g., appointment confirmations), unless you request to opt out of all messaging entirely.

5. Help

For help at any time, reply HELP to any message from City Deck, or contact us directly at (703) 665-0669 or info@citydeck.com.

6. Supported Carriers

Our SMS program is available on major U.S. wireless carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Coverage and message delivery may vary based on your carrier, location, and device.

7. Privacy

Your mobile phone number and any information collected in connection with our SMS program will be used and protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties for marketing purposes.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Continued participation in our SMS program after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The “Last Updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.

This SMS Policy is provided for general informational purposes and is intended to reflect current TCPA and CTIA industry best practices as of the effective date above. It does not constitute legal advice. Because SMS regulations (federal and state) change frequently and carry significant statutory penalties per violation, City Deck should have this Policy — and its actual consent-collection workflow — reviewed by qualified legal counsel before launching or scaling any SMS marketing campaign.
